DAY 2 / DECEMBER 13th

Details

DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS / 1.5 hrs: Ensuring you are capturing all the details of a couple’s wedding day is critical. We will cover what details are most important, when to focus on them, and how to shoot each, in various environments. There will be some practical lighting examples for each, and some Westcott equipment for everyone to utilize as well. Actual wedding details will be available to include a wedding cake, flowers, as well as other wedding day specifics.

PreparatoinPREPARATION & PREPARATION / 1.5 hrs: We will discuss gear, bags, lights, and all other equipment preparation needed to ensure a successful day of wedding shooting. Sony will be providing some amazing gear for everyone to get their hands on as well. In addition, we will conduct an actual shooting demonstration showcasing some of my techniques as well as some hands on with an actual bride & groom.

Dinner

DINNER / 1 hr: I like food even on day 2. There is a ton of shooting in this course, so I’m certain we will all be (even more) hungry. Expect a delicious, quality dinner to go along with all the info. On me, of course!

Formals

FORMALS & BRIDALS / 1.5 hrs: Photographing the family formals is like “herding cats” and can be THE most stressful part of the wedding day, for the photographer. A discussion on ways to tackle and what I do to increase my efficiency with them will take place. On average, I get around 15-30 minutes with a couple on their wedding day. This portion of the workshop will feature a real bride & room, also. This will ensure an understanding on how to utilize all wedding day environments; allowing greater flexibility. I will demonstrate how to turn a seemingly unflattering setting into a useful backdrop for the two lovebirds.

Reception 2

TIME TO PARTY / 1.5 hrs: This part of the wedding can be the “Achilles Heel” for most photographers but I will demonstrate how to utilize the equipment that you have. Whether it be one on camera or 5 off camera flashes, success comes in knowing your limitations and how to mitigate them with confidence.
