Jenn + Vincent’s Engagement Session

One of my latest Houston engagement sessions was with Jenn & Vincent. These two were an absolutely blast to hang with. We spent the first part of the shoot walking through downtown and as hot/humid as it was, I’m surprised these two lasted as long as they did. Vincent and I were sweating so bad after half an hour that we had to carry around a rag to wipe faces off every few minutes. Though it wasn’t the best temperature, these two were troopers.

It is nice having a photography studio just down the street because drying off and changing outfits was quite convenient. Outfit number 2, then out on the search again for another interesting look. The graffiti walls in East Downtown were a perfect fit. Jeni & Vincent are footwear fanatics and even had some custom kicks made for the occasion.

Before calling a wrap, we knocked out a few more shots around the studio (The Houston Rental Studio) in their third outfit.

The last image nearly cost me $2100, literally. I had set up two Profoto B1 strobes for the following shot of the couple in their Aggie attire. Just after capturing this shot, I (luckily) saw my main light sway just enough from the wind to topple over from the top of a 7′ light stand. Somehow, I was able to catch it just before it hit the ground. That was an expensive save!

Be sure to check back to see these two lovebirds’ wedding photos in the very near future!
